​HitMate respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect your information when you use the HitMate mobile application and related services (the “App”).

your profile details, such as tennis preferences, skill-related information, and optional profile content

your profile photos or avatar, if you choose to upload them

your approximate location, if you enable location access, so we can show nearby players and improve match suggestions

your match activity and interactions within the App, including likes, match requests, confirmations, bookings, results, and related activity

your in-app chat messages and related message metadata when you use internal chat features

reports you submit about users or messages

2. How We Use Your Information​

3. Messaging and Phone Number Sharing
HitMate may provide internal in-app 1:1 messaging between eligible users, such as players with a mutual match or other qualifying interaction.

When you use in-app chat, we may process:

message metadata

delivery or unread-related information

safety and moderation signals associated with chat use

We may also process report data, block data, and related records to help review abuse, enforce safety rules, and protect users.
In some situations, HitMate may also allow or suggest communication through third-party services such as SMS or WhatsApp. If you choose to use those services:

your phone number or other contact details may be disclosed to the other user depending on the service you choose and your device settings

those communications are governed by the third party’s own terms and privacy practices
-
HitMate does not control the content, availability, or handling of communications that occur outside the App

4. Firebase & Third-Party Services​
HitMate uses third-party service providers to operate and improve the App. These may include Google Firebase services such as:

Firebase Cloud Messaging, where applicable for notifications

6. Data Storage & Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect your information.
However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

match, booking, and activity data needed to operate the App

in-app chat content and related metadata for as long as reasonably necessary to provide messaging, support safety reviews, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms

crash logs, analytics, and diagnostics for a limited period as reasonably necessary to improve app stability and performance
If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal data unless retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, safety and security, dispute resolution, or other lawful purposes.

10. Children’s Privacy
HitMate is not intended for anyone under 18.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including Australia and the United States, depending on the services and infrastructure we use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our data practices, legal requirements, or our service providers.
If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through the App, by email, or by other reasonable means.
